ALOHA!!
This cake was for an awesome Luau! It was a coconut cake with vanilla buttercream. It is an 8 inch and 4.5 inch tiered cake covered in fondant. The flowers on the sides are piped buttercream and then hand "painted" to give them texture and blended colors. The topper is a hand made Gum Paste/Fondant Fantasy Flower.

Home Sweat Home!
Hey, this was for a party that the theme was "Trailer Trash". I had way too much fun with the details on this. And there was so much more that I wanted to do. Every trailer has to have a "fRee kiTTeNs" hand-written sign and a mailbox "planted" in tires, right?:) Oh, and you can't forget the misspelled "home 'sweat' home" sign posted on the front of the house.
I decided to dress it up a bit with some broken lattice made out of chocolate to hide the truck trailer that the house is sitting on. The stairs are also chocolate that I melted, cooled and cut into the sizes I needed.
The concrete blocks, mailbox, tires, and kittens sign are all hand made with fondant and/or gum paste.
The cake itself is 6 6inch square cakes with a strip of rice crispy treats about in the middle of the trailer to make it a bit longer. It was Chocolate cake, vanilla buttercream. I then covered it in fondant and used fondant and buttercream for the details. Theme cakes are so much more time consuming but so much fun to do. I can't tell you how many times I laughed out loud while coming up with this one.

Joe's Pizza Cake!
I wanted to take something to Joe's work since he had to work ALL day on his actual birthday, so I decided on a pizza cake and pizza. This was very simple to make and it turned out really cool. Then I just went to our favorite pizza joint for a clean box to put it in. It's a yellow cake with red buttercream. I shaved white and yellow candy melts on top for a "Cheese" effect. The pepperoni is cherry fruit leather. The peppers and olives are also candy melts that I did ahead of time.

Sweet Baby Girl
I just finished this cake for a friend's baby shower. I wanted to do something that would resemble bedding for a little girl. I love the colors and how it all turned out. It is an 8x8 and a 4.5x4.5. Chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream covered in light pink fondant with pink, ivory, and brown details.

Monster Jam!
I've never met a 3 year old who loved anything more than Avery loves Monster Trucks! He has been to Monster Jam and watches it on TV a lot so I thought I'd recreate it for him. Four little boys surrounding one of my cakes would normally make me very nervous, but not this one. They were driving the trucks all over it and I didn't realize a cake could have sound effects. The best compliment I can get on a kids birthday cake is when they are distracted from the party by the CAKE!

Black & White
I have wanted to do a black and white one for a while. There are so many options and I hope this isn't the last I get to play with. I layered the cake black and white also. White cake, then a layer of chocolate tinted black with icing color. So it ended up being 4 layers of cake on the bottom (alternating the black and white) then 3 on the top (also alternating colors) with white/vanilla buttercream between all of them. It was really cool when it was cut too. Bottom is 8"square and top is 4.5" square.

Happy Birthday Quincy Lyn!
This is my new favorite bow to make. I love how realistic it is. This cake was for my friends little girl's 1st birthday. I made the tiny one for her individual cake to destroy on camera. I love the colors on this cake. It's an 8 inch and 5 inch on the big cake and the little one is about 2.5 to 3 inches across.

Mario Cake!
Sam decided he wanted a "Mario Wedding Cake" for his fourth birthday. I had a lot of fun with it despite doing my very best to convince him that he really wanted a Pirate Treasure Chest Cake. First of all, IT WAS HUGE!!! How many 4 year olds get a cake like this? And, more importantly, what is he going to want next year?!
I really wish I could say I made mario on top, but I can't. Well, I guess I could, but I would be lying. A friend sculpted it out of fondant. I did however make the fondant and paint him.
I had a lot of fun with the details, and also a little help from Joe.

Now that's a lot of cake!!

Chocolate Lovers Dream Cake!
I have wanted to do this cake for some time now and I loved it! It is truely a chocolate lovers dream come true. Chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream, and a two toned chocolate fondant covering and roses. I would love to do it in white tones also. So if anyone needs a cake..let me know...I'm pretty cheap...well, not me, but my cakes!
